Kazakhstan will host digital tenge on the BNB chain

Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao has announced that the proprietary blockchain will play a key role in Kazakhstan's digital currency.

As the Binance founder has reported accordingly, the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) will also invest its planned central bank digital currency (CBDC), i.e. the digital tenge, on the BNB chain.

The NBK has already started a first pilot of the CBDC, in which selected merchants and consumers are participating. According to Zhao, he is pleased that the Kazakh central bank is "linking the traditional banking system and the crypto ecosystem" with its project.

The cooperation with Kazakhstan is no coincidence, because the crypto exchange has been trying to cooperate more closely with the country since August, which in turn wants to establish itself more firmly in the crypto industry.

At the beginning of October, Binance was then granted permanent approval by the Kazakh Financial Services Authority, which allows the trading platform to offer various crypto services. Almost at the same time, the crypto company reached an agreement with the government to help law enforcement officials fight cryptocurrency financial crimes , including through training .

Kazakhstan now has a very strong interest of its own in the crypto industry, as the Eastern European country now makes the world's third-largest contribution to Bitcoin mining after the USA and China For this reason, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced in September that comprehensive crypto regulation should be drawn up as soon as possible, which would legalize the handling of the asset class.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop.
