Interpol enters the Metaverse

Interpol's Metaverse is online and is designed to streamline communication between different entities while providing a way to conduct education and training.

Interpol wants to prepare against a growing list of possible crimes in the Metaverse.

According to an announcement, Interpol has launched the first metaverse designed specifically for law enforcement. This was presented at the 90th Interpol General Assembly in New Delhi and is already fully operational.

Interpol said a key reason for the metaverse is that bad actors are already using technology to commit crimes, while the public adoption rate is likely to increase significantly over the next few years.

The announcement states:

“Criminals are already starting to exploit the Metaverse. The World Economic Forum […] has warned that social engineering fraud, violent extremism and misinformation may pose particular challenges.”

"As the number of Metaverse users grows and technology advances, the list of possible crimes will only expand to potentially include crimes against children, data theft, money laundering, financial fraud, forgery, ransomware, phishing, and sexual assault and harassment."

People have already been arrested for their actions in the metaverse. Last month, a South Korean man was sentenced to four years in prison for molesting children in the Metwaverse and tricking them into sending photos and videos.

Interpol's event also unveiled plans to develop a department dedicated to fighting crypto-crime. Interpol Secretary General Juergen Stock emphasized the need for the specified entity as many law enforcement agencies are currently not equipped for the complexity of this area.

India's Central Bureau of Investigations Special Director, Praveen Sinha, said that cybercrime has become increasingly difficult to monitor due to its global nature. Coordination is a key factor that will facilitate these efforts.

"The only answer is international cooperation, coordination, trust and the sharing of information in real time."

Interpol's new metaverse will allow registered users to visit the platform and take a tour of a virtual facsimile of Interpol's Secretary General's headquarters in Lycon, France, and participate in forensic investigation courses, among others.

Interpol has also hinted that its metaverse will hopefully provide its various entities around the world with a streamlined and more efficient way to communicate and collaborate with one another. It is also intended to promote education and training for students and new entrants.

The 5 largest platforms for non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles

Since the beginning of 2021, non-fungible tokens (NFT) have had no holding back and the sector is setting new records almost every day.  More and more artists, stars and brands are realizing the potential - NFT are well on their way to catapulting the crypto space into the mainstream.  But which collectibles are currently the most popular? What are NFT? NFT are unique tokens that cannot be exchanged one-for-one for an equivalent token.  Any asset that is tokenizable can be an NFT.  This includes, for example, (digital) works of art, trading cards, game items and crypto domains.  Theoretically, however, real estate or securities can also be mapped as NFT. NFTs can be used to transparently map ownership structures on a public blockchain.  This allows them to store value just like real objects, even if additional copies are easy to make.  For example, the original picture of the Mona Lisa is significantly more valuable than a photo, as everyone kno...

CARDALONIA: THE CARDANO METAVERSE OPENS THE GATES!

Have you ever been to Cardalonia? With these words, the Cardano Metaverse called Cardalonia starts the gates. In this 3D world, developers and users can interact with each other. First of all, users have to create an individual character with which they can move online. After that you can enter one of the worlds built by developers with this character. You can also purchase your own land in the Cardano Metaverse via the marketplaces in Cardalonia . This is secured by Cardano's blockchain technology and therefore offers a relatively secure transfer of ownership. Since these are only digital plots of land, it is not yet entirely clear when the plots of land are purchased whether they can also be sold again in the future. A possible profit cannot be estimated at the moment. In Cardalonia, the cryptocurrency Lonia is used. The maximum amount of tokens in circulation is 100,000,000. The team consists of Alice Sand (Co-Founder), Vasil Air (CTO) and Dustan Water (Fullstack Developer). T...
