Polygon up 20 percent – ​​MATIC soon at $1?

 


The global crypto market is up around 5% over the past few days, reviving the crucial $1 trillion mark. With this increase, the price of Polygon (MATIC) has also increased by 20% in the last 24 hours.

MATIC price is up around 65% in the last 7 days. According to Santiment, the activity of the MATIC addresses has increased significantly with the recent price jump. However, it was also mentioned that the graph shows some kind of divergence.


The number of active addresses on the network dropped to 4862 when the price hit the $0.89 mark. According to the data, the number of active addresses was 10,500 on June 10, 2022 when MATIC was trading at $0.33. This is a significant drop in active holders.


Polygon is trading at an average price of $0.90 at the time of writing. The MATIC price has increased by around 150% in the last 30 days. But even so, the price is still down 68% from its all-time high. However, the 24-hour trading volume shows a massive 71% jump.

Meanwhile, Polygon managed to get into the list of top 10 token purchases of the 100 largest BSC whales in the last 24 hours. The largest wallets hold more than $28.4 million worth of MATIC tokens.


However, the current price increase is supported by the expected announcement from Polygon. Mihailo Bjelic mentioned that they made a promise to keep engaging and returning ETH and in the next 3 days Polygon will deliver on that promise.


It was also recently announced that Polygon has managed to join Disney's Accelerator program. The exclusive accelerator program was open to growth-stage companies with a vision to impact the future of technology and entertainment. Disney announced that this year's class will focus on use cases involving technologies such as augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link.
