Helium Network back to normal operation after failure

The Helium Network was down for approximately four hours on Monday, July 11th.

The outage was apparently triggered by a software update for the network's validators, which went live on July 8th.

In addition, there is said to have been a local network failure at the Amazon Web Service (AWS).

During the outage, no consensus could be reached and thus no token transfers could be processed.

Data transmitted over the network was not affected.

Block production had to be paused and resumed at block 1,435,693, the team said .

Helium is a peer-to-peer network for the Internet of Things (IoT).
