Crypto industry offers women better career opportunities thanks to home office

Saro McKenna, a co-founder of the NFT game Alien World and the CEO of blockchain consultancy Dacoco, tells Cointelegraph what her personal views and experiences are on the issue of equality in the crypto space.

McKenna, who has worked in other male-dominated industries, first notes that the crypto industry as a whole is actually "quite diverse." The people in blockchain and crypto come from a wide variety of backgrounds, which means that they could bring in many “mixed perspectives and points of view”, as the expert says.

According to McKenna, the opportunities that the crypto industry offers in particular in terms of working from home is a big plus that gives women in the sector the opportunity to advance their careers while taking care of the family at the same time. To that end, she states:

"Given that children are still primarily cared for by women, this added flexibility means they don't have to put their careers on hold temporarily and their work experience doesn't suffer because they have children."

McKenna also sees the crypto industry as a field in which specialists who are less extroverted can flourish, because the focus in blockchain projects is more on expertise and ability. Accordingly, it is all the more possible for introverts to “let their work speak for itself”.

"Because the focus in the crypto industry is more on expertise and ability, I think the barriers to entry are lower," says the expert. Nevertheless, it would still take “the courage to get involved”. Overall, McKenna definitely sees the industry as "super open" to everyone.

When asked for her opinion on the Metaverse, the Dacoco CEO replies that the crypto community should strive to make the virtual world a "safe space", especially for women and children. While there is no physical danger, McKenna sees dangers of their own lurking in the Metaverse:

"The Metaverse is a social environment where people can distort their real identities, and women and children need special protection here."

In this context, she concludes by emphasizing that innovation should always be aimed at “what really matters”, namely people.

Meanwhile, prominent celebrity investor and crypto advocate Tim Draper believes women will be the driving force behind Bitcoin ( BTC )’s next big record run. Accordingly, women in crypto not only play a key role as workers, but also as investors in the future.

Not a bear market: According to the analyst, the current BTC decline is the same as in previous Bitcoin cycles

According to one analyst, Bitcoin is behaving the same overall this year as it has in previous cycles. Bitcoin ( BTC ) will have “at least one more boost higher” before hitting all-time highs this halving cycle, analysts are currently saying. The well-known analyst TechDev has spoken on Twitter about the current state of BTC and said that contrary to many opinions, nothing unusual has happened in BTC/USD in 2022. Bitcoin in 2021: Nothing to see here Sentiment has also taken a hit, falling 40 percent from November's all-time high of $69,000. There is still “extreme fear” in the bitcoin and altcoin market. TechDev, known for his bullish views on Bitcoin, sees no reason to worry. He analyzed the new wallet addresses in relation to course behavior and shows here that the scenario from last year was by no means an isolated case. Back then, the number of new addresses made lower highs while the price made higher highs. "In 4 of the 6 corrections, there was divergence with price ma...

The 5 largest platforms for non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles

Since the beginning of 2021, non-fungible tokens (NFT) have had no holding back and the sector is setting new records almost every day.  More and more artists, stars and brands are realizing the potential - NFT are well on their way to catapulting the crypto space into the mainstream.  But which collectibles are currently the most popular? What are NFT? NFT are unique tokens that cannot be exchanged one-for-one for an equivalent token.  Any asset that is tokenizable can be an NFT.  This includes, for example, (digital) works of art, trading cards, game items and crypto domains.  Theoretically, however, real estate or securities can also be mapped as NFT. NFTs can be used to transparently map ownership structures on a public blockchain.  This allows them to store value just like real objects, even if additional copies are easy to make.  For example, the original picture of the Mona Lisa is significantly more valuable than a photo, as everyone kno...
