Madonna and Beeple: “Mother of Creation” NFT Collection on SuperRare

 


Madonna teams up with popular artist Beeple to help women and children in need with a new NFT project.


Pop icon Madonna surprised her fans with her first NFT purchase back in March 2022. Madonna bought an APE-NFT from the popular Board Ape Yacht Club for over half a million dollars, which she now uses as her profile picture on her Twitter account. She stated at the time that she was "ready for the Metaverse." Now, Madonna is collaborating on a new NFT project with artist Beeple (Mike Winkelmann), who made one of the world's highest-priced NFT sales and is already a philanthropist. The two artists want to stand up for the rights of people and children and support them financially.


NFT videos for charity

The NFT collection itself is a video collection and is called “Mother of Creation” . In the three videos released Monday, Madonna can be seen naked "giving birth" to plants, animals and technology.


The NFT sale will take place on May 11, 2022 at 6 a.m. EST and will end on Friday, May 13, 2022. The NFTs will be auctioned on the NFT marketplace SuperRare. Profits go to the following organizations:


NationBailout: An organization that fights for the rights of African Americans.

The organization V-Day , which campaigns for women's rights and equality. The funds go to the City of Joy project , which helps women in Congo.

And to Voicesofchildren, which has been taking care of the children who have become victims of the Ukraine conflict since 2015.


Madonna and Beeple worked on the project for more than a year. She commented on the process on the project's website, saying:


“When Mike and I decided to work together on this project a year ago, I was thrilled at the opportunity to share my vision of the world as a mother and an artist with Mike's unique perspective. It has been an amazing journey to develop this project from an intellectual idea to an emotional story that becomes art. I wanted to explore the concept of creation, not just the way a child comes into the world through a woman's vagina, but also the way an artist gives birth to their creativity. Most importantly, we wanted to take this opportunity to help mothers and children who need help the most at the moment.”

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack.
