Bull's eye – Algorand (ALGO) becomes the official advertising partner of the FIFA World Cup 2022

 


Algorand is FIFA's official promotional partner for the two upcoming World Cups. This makes the crypto project the first official blockchain network to work with the international football association.


As FIFA announced on its official website on Monday , Algorand will be the promotional partner of this year's World Cup in November and December for the North America and Europe regions.



The blockchain network will also be on board for the 2023 women's soccer world cup in Australia and New Zealand.


However, the sponsorship deal is not just limited to mere marketing, because as a technical partner, the blockchain based on the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus process should also help FIFA to develop and implement a "Digital Assets Strategy". The football association is primarily aiming to integrate non-fungible tokens (NFTs). So Algorand could possibly help FIFA to implement its own NFT collections. It is already certain that Algorand will provide the association's "official blockchain wallet".


Controversial FIFA President Gianni Infantino is delighted with the new partnership, saying it demonstrates FIFA's will to "find innovative ways to generate sustainable revenue growth." Accordingly, Infantino hopes for a "long and fruitful collaboration with Algorand".


In the last 24 hours, Algorand ( ALGO ) price is already up 20% to $0.72. At the latest for the World Cup in Qatar, the crypto project should enjoy even more attention.
