Buy Movie Tickets with Dogecoin – AMC Theaters integrates DOGE and SHIB

The large American cinema chain AMC Theaters has now also included the two joke cryptocurrencies Dogecoin ( DOGE ) and Shibu Inu ( SHIB ) as possible means of payment in its smartphone app.

In November 2022, AMC Theaters introduced crypto payments for the first time, initially offering larger cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin ( BTC ), Ether ( ETH ), Bitcoin Cash ( BCH ) and Litecoin ( LTC ).

On January 6, 2022, AMC boss Adam Aron promised that the two popular "meme coins" DOGE and SHIB would also be integrated by March. Even if this step has now been taken with a little delay, Aron has at least kept his promise to the crypto community.

As Aron explains, use via the smartphone operating systems iOS and Android is made possible through a partnership with the crypto payment service provider BitPay.

It is not yet known which other cryptocurrencies will soon be integrated as payment methods. In order to be able to buy cinema tickets with Shiba and Dogecoin from now on, interested cinemagoers must download the AMC smartphone app for their mobile device.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets.
