Scaling solution “Hydra” is taking shape

The highly anticipated scaling solution Hydra has taken a big step closer to mainnet integration.

According to the Cardano feed , the development team launched the first “Hydra heads in the public Cardano testnet”.

The Layer 2 scaling solution is now undergoing a series of tests there before the protocol is implemented in the mainnet.

Hydra aims to increase blockchain throughput to one million transactions per second.

IOHK CEO and lead developer Charles Hoskinson congratulated the team on Twitter .

“I am very proud of the Hydra team for reaching this milestone. It is some of the fastest and best applied research work in the Cardano ecosystem,” said Hoskinson.
