VISA bitcoin debit cards generated $3.5 billion in 2022!



 I recently asked VISA how and where you can pay with Bitcoin at VISA acceptance points and points of sale. And the answer I received makes me sit up and take notice:

The following points are important in my opinion:

Visa now works with 60 crypto platforms and supports them in issuing Visa cards.
Last year, Visa issued a total of more than $3.5 billion in crypto-linked cards.

Visa now works with 60 crypto platforms and supports them in issuing Visa cards. With these cards, consumers can use crypto assets to pay easily and conveniently at 80 million merchants worldwide.

In German-speaking countries, Bitpanda and Nuri are among the best-known platforms that offer the corresponding Visa cards. The cards are conventional Visa cards that can be linked to crypto credit by the provider: depending on the provider, cardholders can use the account to select any digital assets, e.g. Bitcoin, as a source of liquidity for payments and use them in retail. Card providers like Bitpanda convert with their Visa debit cardlinked cryptocurrencies/assets to the associated card's fiat currency automatically and in real-time at the time of the transaction. This process can vary from provider to provider. The transaction in retail is processed by all providers only in a fiat currency via the VisaNet payment network. As before, dealers will be traded in a fiat currency, e.g. B. euros, paid.

In our most recent fiscal year, more than $3.5 billion was cumulatively spent on eligible crypto-linked Visa cards.
