Liquidated futures for $ 102 million

Overnight futures contracts for $ 102 million were liquidated. The wave of liquidation has had Bitcoin and Ethereum corrected significantly. Bitcoin was able to catch just over USD 40,000, with Ether holding the 3,000 mark as support.

Futures contracts for $ 102 million were liquidated within half an hour early in the morning of January 7th, as Wu Blockchain writes on Twitter .

Bitcoin futures accounted for $ 40 million and Ethereum contracts accounted for $ 42 million.

The BTC rate fell to USD 40,685 and the Ether rate to USD 3,130, as data from coingecko show.

Total market cap is down 1.5 percent in the past 24 hours to $ 2.1 trillion.
