You can now spend Shiba Inu at GameStop

GameStop is now one of the traders who can accept the Shiba Inu cryptocurrency.

Flexa, a crypto payment company backed by the Winklevoss twins, has accepted Shiba Inu (SHIB). That means you can use it to shop in around 40,000 stores in the United States. The company announced:

The extensive list of supported retailers includes video game retailer GameStop, luxury retailer Nordstrom, hardware store Lowe's, pet retailer Petco, homeware and furnishings company Bed Bath & Beyond, cosmetic chain Ulta Beauty, and many other large retailers.

Payments with cryptocurrencies are made easier with the help of the Flexa crypto wallet Spedn, which was introduced in 2019. It initially only supported Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Gemini's stablecoin.

In May, Flexa added Dogecoin, the original meme coin, to the available cryptocurrency line. The network automatically converts cryptocurrencies to fiat so retailers don't face crypto-related volatility. Instant payments are made using Amp, an ERC-20 token that acts as collateral and is secured by a community resource.

The Shiba Inu price is now hovering around an important support level and showing signs of a rapid rise. The recent break below this barrier suggests that the market makers have already raked in liquidity, suggesting that the downside risk is relatively small.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726.
