Ubisoft enters the NFT market with Tezos, XTZ price rises by 50%

Ubisoft is entering the NFT market with the “Quartz” platform and is working with the Tezos crypto platform for this. Tezos only uses a fraction of the energy Ethereum needs for NFT minting . The Tezos course (XTZ) rose by 50% after the announcement by Ubisoft.

The game developer announced on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 that he would launch the NFT platform “Ubisoft Quartz” . The NFTs on the platform are called “Digits”. The first items or in-game items (such as vehicles and weapons) are offered for the game “Ghost-Reacon Breakpoint” and can be traded in-game.

Ubisoft calls Quartz the first "step for the new Metaverse"

According to its own information , Ubisoft has been working on integrating blockchain and crypto technologies into the company for several years. Nicolas Pouard, VP of Ubisoft's Strategic Innovation Lab, described the NFT platform Quartz as “the first building block in the ambitious vision of developing a real metaverse”.

The first three item airdrops will take place on December 9th, 12th and 15th. The digits can be claimed on the Ubisoft Quartz platform and used in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. If you want to have the items, you have to be at least 18 years old, purchase the Ghost Recon Breakpoint PC version on Ubisoft Connect and rise to at least level 5. Further distributions are planned for early 2022, and further details will be announced at a later date.

Tezos course (XTZ) explodes after NFT announcement

Ubisoft works with the Tezos (XTZ) platform to create and manage the NFTs. The Tezos crypto platform uses a proof-of-stake mechanism, which is why it requires significantly less energy than, for example, Ethereum , which is based on the proof-of-work consensus mechanism (i.e. mining). In terms of environmentally friendly, Ubisoft can legitimately score points. Didier Genevois, Ubisoft's Blockchain Technical Director, commented on the collaboration with Tezos as follows in the press release :

“A transaction on the Tezos network consumes the same amount of energy as streaming a video for 30 seconds, while the previous generation of blockchain networks consumed the same amount of energy required for a year of non-stop streaming. Because of this low carbon footprint, both our developers and our players can focus on innovation without compromising sustainability. "

The Tezos or XTZ rate reacted to the news and rose within a few hours from 3.60 euros to over 5 euros. At the time the article was published, the XTZ price was around 4.50 euros.

Not a bear market: According to the analyst, the current BTC decline is the same as in previous Bitcoin cycles

According to one analyst, Bitcoin is behaving the same overall this year as it has in previous cycles. Bitcoin ( BTC ) will have “at least one more boost higher” before hitting all-time highs this halving cycle, analysts are currently saying. The well-known analyst TechDev has spoken on Twitter about the current state of BTC and said that contrary to many opinions, nothing unusual has happened in BTC/USD in 2022. Bitcoin in 2021: Nothing to see here Sentiment has also taken a hit, falling 40 percent from November's all-time high of $69,000. There is still “extreme fear” in the bitcoin and altcoin market. TechDev, known for his bullish views on Bitcoin, sees no reason to worry. He analyzed the new wallet addresses in relation to course behavior and shows here that the scenario from last year was by no means an isolated case. Back then, the number of new addresses made lower highs while the price made higher highs. "In 4 of the 6 corrections, there was divergence with price ma...

The 5 largest platforms for non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles

Since the beginning of 2021, non-fungible tokens (NFT) have had no holding back and the sector is setting new records almost every day.  More and more artists, stars and brands are realizing the potential - NFT are well on their way to catapulting the crypto space into the mainstream.  But which collectibles are currently the most popular? What are NFT? NFT are unique tokens that cannot be exchanged one-for-one for an equivalent token.  Any asset that is tokenizable can be an NFT.  This includes, for example, (digital) works of art, trading cards, game items and crypto domains.  Theoretically, however, real estate or securities can also be mapped as NFT. NFTs can be used to transparently map ownership structures on a public blockchain.  This allows them to store value just like real objects, even if additional copies are easy to make.  For example, the original picture of the Mona Lisa is significantly more valuable than a photo, as everyone kno...
