Former SushiSwap CTO critically reviews his tenure



 “Ultimately, I failed because of an accumulation of mistakes, and I will take this experience with me into my next project,” as Delong admits self-critically.


Joseph Delong, the former technical director of the decentralized crypto exchange (DEX) SushiSwap, reviewed his work and ultimately his failure in a public posting.


The CTO, who resigned just a few days ago, cites internal chaos between developers as the main reason for his resignation. He chalked himself up for not having scaled the business model sufficiently, for having been bad at organizational planning and for communicating badly. In the crypto community, Delong has now largely received praise for his frank words and confessions of guilt.


Among other things, he admits that he did not inform the sushi community in good time when the first problems arose among the developers he was in charge of. His direct exchange with users also left a lot to be desired. Using his personal Twitter account to notify SuhsiSwap about developments would not have been very effective, because with this decision he only polarized the community. While one half praised his open communication, the other half criticized this direct route as unprofessional and negligent towards investors.


Before joining SushiSwap as CTO, Delong was a senior software developer at ConsenSys. Despite all the criticism and its ultimate failure, Delong has made a significant contribution to the fact that SushiSwap has now risen to the thirteenth largest decentralized crypto exchange . However, the project also had to struggle with several setbacks during this time .

“The difficult birth of sushi has created additional problems, which is why I will make sure in my next project that I have the necessary decision-making authority to structure an organization in such a way that everyone involved benefits from it. Thank you for letting me run sushi for a while. I wish Sushi continued success! "

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack.
