American Eagle gold coin sales

In November 2021, the US Mint delivered 126,000 ounces of gold with the American Eagle investment coin. Although this results in a decrease of 15 percent for these gold coins compared to the previous month, November sales in a twelve-month comparison were 23 percent above the average. Compared to November 2020, 48 percent more Eagle investment gold was sold.


As a result, the previous year's figure for the past eleven months of 1,198,000 ounces was exceeded by 50 percent, which documents the strong increase in demand for gold coins in figures.


American Silver Eagles grew in November


Compared to October, sales of one ounce American Silver Eagle coins grew 34 percent to 1,447,000 ounces. In October 2020, however, sales were 70 percent higher and at 28,198,500 ounces, the eleven-month figures are a total of 3.9 percent below the previous year's figures.


Caused by a shortage of silver blanks, there have been shortages again and again in recent years, mainly for the Silver Eagle coins, as the US Mint does not manufacture the blanks itself.

Due to the corona pandemic and the associated limited capacities, only Eagle gold coins with a value of one ounce were temporarily produced. Since August of this year, the US Mint has been producing the wide range with the denominations of 1/10, ¼, ½ and one ounce again.


The American Buffalo gold coin also produced 39,500 ounces in November. In the period from January to November, the delivery volume therefore totaled 341,000 ounces.

The US Mint is the official state mint of the USA and is best known for the American Eagle coins. For the first time since their first edition, the American Eagle gold and silver coins were issued in a new design this year.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack.
