211.7 million Shiba Inu (SHIB) are set to be burned on December 26th

Steven Cooper has announced that his team will destroy 211,666,467 Shiba Inu on December 26th.

Steven Cooper, founder and owner of Bigger Entertainment, announced on Twitter that his team plans to destroy 211,666,467 Shiba Inu meme coins on December 26th. This amount has gradually increased since the beginning of December.

On December 13th, the SHIB burn pot amounted to 131,236,842 coins. Since then it has grown a little more than 1.5 times. Cooper also tweeted that the team would be able to burn a whole billion SHIB coins if 7,500 SHIB holders paid $ 5 each for a ticket to the Burn party. That apparently didn't happen, so the amount of tokens that will be destroyed on Sunday is currently 212 million SHIB.

In the past 48 hours, almost 720 million Shiba Inu coins have been sent from various accounts to an empty address, according to Etherscan. 13.1 million tokens were destroyed in the last 20 hours.

The price of SHIB began to rise after 706 million SHIB were burned that day. SHIB skeptics are of the opinion that given the incredible overall range of SHIBs, these mini-burns of the coin will have little effect on the price.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link.
