Telegram plans to launch blockchain marketplace

 

Telegram plans to launch a blockchain-based auction platform soon. The messaging service recently announced this.

The marketplace runs on the in-house blockchain “The Open Network (TON)” and is intended to enable users to bid for exclusive user names.

Incidentally, there should not be any NFTs on the platform, although the auctions should run via “NFT-like” smart contracts.

Telegram founder Pavel Durov got the ball rolling back in August.

Apart from that, the messaging service has been experimenting with crypto for a long time. Bitcoin and TON have been able to be sent via Telegram since April . Since October, users have also been able to trade the two cryptocurrencies .
