Zilliqa launches a crypto console

 


Blockchain and gaming: so far this has been more of a one-sided love affair. Nevertheless, Zilliqa docks at the interface, a console should master the balancing act: Web 3.0, gaming and mining in one - can that succeed?

As a multimedia interface, you should not only be able to gamble and stream with the Zilliqa console . Mining should also be possible. With an integrated wallet, the tokens earned should be able to be converted directly into Fiat. Play-to-earn enthusiasts should get their money's worth.

Above all, games from our own production should be available for selection. “But the potential to bring other blockchains into the platform to drive interoperability and overall marketplace growth has been discussed,” Valentin Cobelea, Head of Gaming Technology at Zilliqa , told BTC-ECHO. That means the console should represent the widest possible Web 3.0 gaming portfolio, including from third-party providers.

The Zilliqa box cannot keep up with the new console generation à la Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. According to Cobelea, the console has an Nvidia 1650 graphics card and an Intel i9 processor. The frame rate is said to be 60FPS, with a resolution of 1440p. However, this should still be able to tease a lot out of the box, which definitely exceeds the requirements of previous blockchain game titles.


Early access to the gaming hub is scheduled to open for beta testing in October. Gamers will then have to be patient until the console is available for purchase. "We expect the console to go on sale in the second quarter of 2023," said Valentin Cobelea. Pre-orders will start in the first quarter of next year. They didn't want to tell us in advance what the console should cost.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726.
