Coinbase partners with BlackRock - Lots of new investors for the crypto market

 


Leading crypto exchange Coinbase has partnered with “ secret world power ” BlackRock to give clients of the world’s most influential wealth manager direct access to cryptocurrencies. Market leader Bitcoin ( BTC ) is the first to do so.


In the future, customers of the BlackRock institutional investment platform Aladdin will be able to trade in cryptocurrencies via the Coinbase Prime service, store them and use a number of other services related to investments in the crypto market.


Coinbase Prime is Coinbase's institutional trading platform, which offers professional clients services such as trading, custody, staking and reporting for more than 300 different cryptocurrencies. The service is primarily tailored to large investors such as hedge funds, asset management companies and financial institutions. Coinbase Prime currently has more than 13,000 customers.

Joseph Chalom, the Head of Strategic Ecosystem Partnerships, comments on the new collaboration:


"Connecting to Aladdin will allow our clients to integrate their Bitcoin investments directly into their existing portfolio management, giving them a holistic view of their risk positions across all asset classes."

Institutional investors can therefore manage all their crypto services on Coinbase Prime via a user interface or platform API and easily combine them with other investments in other asset classes. The platform's custody services are processed through Coinbase Custody Trust Company, which is authorized by the New York Financial Services Commission (NYDFS).
