Cardano testnet “catastrophically broken” according to developer

A prominent Cardano developer draws attention to a serious flaw in the current testnet.

On Twitter he writes of a “catastrophic” condition.

The testnets simulate a blockchain before it actually begins. They are also used to identify possible errors.

With that in mind, the developer pointed out later in the thread that it was "lucky" that this only happened on testnet.

When asked by a user what this means for the upcoming update, the developer replied: "It just means that we test our new testnets even better. And that's okay. Much better than rushing the new mainnet and having a bug. We're doing our homework."

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said a few days ago that he was satisfied with the way the tests were going .

Cardano is now in the home stretch on one of its most important upgrades, Vasil.
