BlackRock offers Bitcoin trading

 


The world's largest asset manager BlackRock enables its institutional clients to trade Bitcoin.

The investment company is cooperating with Coinbase Prime , the offshoot of the popular crypto exchange designed for large investors.

Customers of BlackRock's investment management platform "Aladdin" should have direct access to Bitcoin trading via Coinbase Prime.

Additionally, these institutional investors can make use of Coinbase's proprietary brokerage and custody service.

Already in February of this year there were the first reports and speculation about BlackRock's crypto plans.

The service is initially only designed for Bitcoin, and Coinbase did not provide any further information on the integration of other cryptocurrencies.

However, the prospect of expanding the cooperation and the service for interested customers was announced.

BlackRock is the world's largest wealth manager with assets in excess of $10 trillion. Customers include private investors, banks, pension funds and foundations.

The investment company is also one of the largest providers of ETFs via the iShares brand. In addition, the first Bitcoin-based ETF was launched at the end of April .
