BlackRock Bitcoin Fund

 


Just a few days after the announcement of the cooperation with Coinbase Prime, the asset manager is now launching its own private trust fund for Bitcoin. This comes from a statement from BlackRock.

According to its own statement, it is “committed to giving its customers access to the desired investments”.

The fund is intended for institutional investors in the USA. Despite the price slumps in recent months, private investors are still interested, BlackRock explains.

The focus is initially on Bitcoin, which reflects the main interest of customers and is the most liquid cryptocurrency.

BlackRock is also confident about the sustainability of Bitcoin mining. It is “following and encouraged by programs such as those of RMI and Energy Web for more transparency and the use of renewable energy in Bitcoin mining,” the statement said.

BlackRock is the world's largest wealth manager. Thanks to the partnership with Coinbase , users of the “Aladdin” investment platform have recently been able to trade Bitcoin.

In a trust, the operator buys and manages the relevant financial products for an organization or individual. BlackRock would therefore acquire and store Bitcoin directly for interested parties.
