Jack Dorsey and Jay-Z Collaborate on Bitcoin Education Program in Brooklyn



 New York rapper and producer Jay-Z has teamed up with Cash App founder Jack Dorsey to create The Bitcoin Academy . This is an educational program whose motto is "education is power" and promotes exactly this.


The program is reserved exclusively for residents of the Marcy Project residential complex in New York City. It starts on June 22nd and runs until September 7th. You can take part in this in person or online. The free educational program aims to give people better access to financial information and promote equal opportunities.


Lecturers include educators Lamar Wilson of the Black Bitcoin Billionaire and Najah J. Roberts of the Crypto Blockchain Plug. Exact information on the lessons is scarce at the moment, but the topics revolve around the need, utility and vision for Bitcoin. General business literature is also discussed there.


Children aged five to 17 can take part in the "Crypto Kids Camp" on two Saturdays. Adult participants receive a portable WiFi hotspot device, a year's data plan and, if necessary, a smartphone.


Dorsey said he was inspired by the results of bitcoin initiatives supporting a small segment of African American, Central and South Americans. He explained that the ultimate goal is to "prove that empowering people with powerful tools can help them become more independent."


Dorsey has allayed fears of favoritism or maximalism towards the largest cryptocurrency. He said the program also goes beyond bitcoin, and there will also be talks about "long-term thinking, local economies and confidence."


Dorsey and Jay-Z are both well-known advocates of the cryptocurrency and Web3 sectors. Dorsey has brought cryptocurrencies so close with Block and Cash App and Jay-Z has clearly shown his attitude towards the industry with his CryptoPunk avatar and his passion for artistic autonomy on the blockchain.


Both are co-owners of multimillion-dollar music label Tidal, which last year indicated plans to integrate non-fungible tokens (NFT) into its streaming service .

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack.
