Do Kwon jokes about the Terra ecosystem - Luna leadership in turmoil

 


The Dark Knight of Terra is back, and this time FatManTerra has some of the most despicable examples of a freefall ecosystem ever seen in the crypto economy. FatManTerra started his thread by saying, “Tensions are high and the big sharks are smelling blood”. He revealed a thread detailing recent discussions between validators and TerraformLabs.


ThorchainMaximalist recently released chat recordings from May 12th when the Luna blockchain was offline. FatManTerra has now posted more conversations from TFL that show an increasing disdain for the community. Below is a screenshot of Do Kwon cracking jokes while a multi-billion dollar ecosystem collapses and people commit suicide out of desperation.

The suggestion of presenting a concept as a “semi-joke idea” is often used as a means of formulating ideas without risking a blow to one's ego. If the reviewers just laugh at the suggestion, the proposer has achieved his goal; if the suggestion is well received, he can also claim that it was only half a joke. An article by the American Psychology Association states:


"Humans have a basic need to belong... This need is deeply rooted in our evolutionary history and has all sorts of implications for modern psychological processes."


However, Do Kwon's idea is objectively absurd given the situation he finds himself in. Humor can be used as a coping mechanism, but Do Kwon must focus on the task of stabilizing Terra's ecosystem.


TFL's Jared continued the casual approach by responding to a real question about unlocking the locked Luna:


“Which one is wLuna again?” It's highly unlikely that any of the leading TFL developers wouldn't know about Wrapped Luna, and if they didn't it would be even more disturbing.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack.
