Chainlink integrates Keepers and VRF on Avalanche's blockchain

 


Blockchain oracle platform Chainlink ( LINK ) has launched two new services, namely Chainlink Keepers and Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF), and integrated them into the Avalanche Primary Network. This is a special subnetwork on the Avalanche ( AVAX ) platform.


In an announcement on Thursday, the Chainlink team emphasized that the integration with Avalanche is intended to support developers on the platform. Chainlink Keepers allows developers to automate smart contract functions in a decentralized way. Chainlink VRF provides a random number generator (RNG) that can be used in many decentralized applications (DApps) where randomness plays a role.


Emin Gün Sirer , the founder and CEO of Ava Labs, believes the integration is a major milestone for developers on Avalanche. According to Sirer, this "simplifies both the developer and user experience". Avalanche's CEO also stated that it would also improve the features and design of DApps. He commented on this:


"There are many hardworking developers in the Avalanche community. It's now even easier for them to develop and deploy applications quickly and at scale."

Chainlink co-founder Sergei Nazarov is also enthusiastic. He explained the integration allows developers to build smart contract apps with end-to-end automation and use a verified RNG in any application within the platform.

In February, Chainlink launched the second version of its VRF feature . With this feature, the Chainlink platform delivers random numbers and provides cryptographic proof that the number was determined by combining block data and an oracle's private key.


In early June, Chainlink also rolled out a price feed feature on the Solana ( SOL ) blockchain. This feature allows developers on the Solana platform to embed BTC/USD, ETH/USD, and USDC/USD rates in their applications.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack.
