Instagram plans to integrate Ethereum, Polygon, Solana and Flow NFTs

 


From May 9th, Instagram will start a pilot project to implement non-fungible tokens (NFT) for selected users in the USA.

In the future, Instagram users will be able to connect their own NFTs on the blockchains Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC), Solana (SOL) and Flow (FLOW) to their Instagram account.

After weeks of speculation , Mark Zuckerberg has now specified the details surrounding the future integration of NFTs on the popular social media platform.

Instagram intends to support widely used crypto wallets like MetaMask. By connecting their wallets, users should be able to verify ownership of their NFTs. In addition, verified owners can use their NFTs as avatars and link the creators of the respective non-fungible tokens.

For the time being, the social media platform will not charge users for posting and sharing NFTs.

However, it is still unclear whether Instagram will already integrate NFTs of all four blockchains at the start of the pilot project.
