Crypto legalization in Russia 'just a matter of time'

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will soon be legalized in Russia, according to Denis Manturov, Russia's Minister of Industry and Trade. This is “only a matter of time”. This is what Bitcoin Magazine reports .

Speaking at an educational event, the minister said: “The question is when and how to regulate. Both the central bank and the government are now actively dealing with it.”

The Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin, also considers the Russian financial system ripe for integration with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

At the moment, Russia ranks 3rd in bitcoin mining , after Kazakhstan and the USA.

Russia also accepts bitcoin as payment for gas supplies to “friendly countries”.

A digital ruble is planned for 2023 .
