Algorand is up 19% after FIFA partnership

 


Algorand enjoyed a wild rally after announcing it had become FIFA's official blockchain. Aside from increasing its value by almost a fifth, it saw a 386% increase in trading volume.

What is Algorand?

Algorand is a decentralized, self-sufficient, blockchain-based network that supports a wide range of applications. It is scalable, secure and efficient, justifying FIFA's decision to select it as its official blockchain partner.


Algorand is able to support calculations that require performance guarantees to build new forms of trust.


It was invented to improve efficiency and speed in response to the slow transactions on Bitcoin and other older blockchains.


Algorand comes with low transaction fees. It is based on a permissionless Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain protocol and for that reason does not involve any mining.

In 2024, it is expected to trade for at least $1.97. The maximum level that can be reached is $2.38 with an average trading price of $2.04. In 2025, the price of 1 ALGO is expected to reach at least $2.89.
