What are the differences between Metaverse and Web3.0?

For the blockchain and crypto community, the future of the internet is clear. The Metaverse aims to completely change the Internet, virtual collaboration and private life. Mark Zuckerberg underscores the trend towards metaverse with your current meta group.

In addition to the Metaverse, however, other possibilities are emerging as to how the Internet of the future could look. Many experts see the future of the Internet as Web3.0. Web3.0 has a lot in common with the Metaverse, but there are also crucial differences.

What is the metaverse?

Metaverses have been known in the gaming industry for a number of years. These are virtual worlds in which players can buy properties, outfits and valuables, among other things. It is now also possible to earn money in the Metaverse. This should take place, for example, by renting out land in the Metaverse or hosting virtual events. As a result, the Metaverse should also find more use in everyday life away from gaming.

The goal should be to move people away from the console and bring them into the metaverse themselves using virtual reality glasses. In the Metaverse everything that the physical world has to offer is supposed to be possible. In addition to meeting friends, the “metaversians” should also be able to do sports, work and go shopping. Land, valuables and buildings can then also be acquired.

The most well-known metaverses are Decentraland  or The Sandbox . Large corporations are now increasingly entering the market. Facebook founder Zuckerberg emphasizes that the future of the Internet lies in the Metaverse.

The next-generation Internet is set to fundamentally change the way we use the Internet. In Web1.0, the first version of the Internet, information was sought selectively, which was made available on websites. The Internet has been in the Web 2.0 state for several years. In Web 2.0, users interact with each other, the Internet is not only used to obtain information, but also to be able to interact with other users. Social media companies such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or Snap are the basis of today's Internet.

What is Web 3.0?

The Web3.0 can connect to the Metaverse in some aspects. Web3.0 should further strengthen the trend towards interaction. It is assumed that user interactions will become even more intense. Some also suspect that Web3.0 will be based on the blockchain. The reason for this is that Web3.0 promises more democracy and user rights for users. The sovereignty over their own data should lie with my users, not with large corporations or governments - that is the vision. In contrast to the Metaverse, however, Web3.0 is not yet a reality and is far from being firmly defined. What Web3.0 will look like, what features it should have and how it will be used remains unclear at the moment.

What is the difference between Metaverse and Web3.0?

At this point it seems like there are no differences between Metaverse and Web3.0. Mainly because Web3.0 has not yet been defined.

However, the differences are deeper. Web3.0 describes the entire world of the Internet of the future, and the Metaverse is a part of it. The single aspect of Metaverse relates mostly to gaming and some sort of virtual reality. What is particularly important here is the different application of Metaverse and Web3.0:

While Web3.0 basically has the same purpose as Web2.0 and only further develops this benefit, the Metaverse is intended to unite physical and virtual reality. This should be done primarily via virtual reality.

Metaverse vs. Web3.0- What is the future?

Basically, this question does not arise. The Metaverse will become part of Web3.0. Metaverse and Web3.0 will not only coexist, one will be understood as a sub-area of the other. Together they will form the future of the Internet.

What are NFT? NFT are unique tokens that cannot be exchanged one-for-one for an equivalent token.  Any asset that is tokenizable can be an NFT.  This includes, for example, (digital) works of art, trading cards, game items and crypto domains.  Theoretically, however, real estate or securities can also be mapped as NFT. CARDALONIA: THE CARDANO METAVERSE OPENS THE GATES!

Have you ever been to Cardalonia? With these words, the Cardano Metaverse called Cardalonia starts the gates. In this 3D world, developers and users can interact with each other. First of all, users have to create an individual character with which they can move online. After that you can enter one of the worlds built by developers with this character. You can also purchase your own land in the Cardano Metaverse via the marketplaces in Cardalonia . This is secured by Cardano's blockchain technology and therefore offers a relatively secure transfer of ownership. Since these are only digital plots of land, it is not yet entirely clear when the plots of land are purchased whether they can also be sold again in the future. A possible profit cannot be estimated at the moment. In Cardalonia, the cryptocurrency Lonia is used. The maximum amount of tokens in circulation is 100,000,000.
