Ripple Wants To Implement NFTs

According to a blog post , Ripple (XRP) wants to implement the functionality for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with a new update.

The new 1.9.0 XRP Ledger version is said to bring a change to the protocol “to support non-fungible tokens (NFTs) natively in the XRP ledger,” the post states.

However, the validators have yet to vote on the protocol change. These would have to clearly support the protocol change with over 80 percent.

While the first port of call for NFTs is arguably still the Ethereum blockchain, alternative protocols are following suit. Blockchain projects such as Solana (SOL) and Polygon (MATIC) attract crypto users to their ecosystems in terms of costs.
