NFTs provide a bridge for millions to move to Web 3.0

 


NFTs have become very popular in the cryptocurrency space and continue to see massive adoption.


Charles d'Haussy, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, ConsenSys, revealed in a recent interview that NFTs have provided a bridge for millions of mainstream users to migrate to Web3.


The emergence and growth of Web3 has been the focus of the cryptocurrency space over the past few months. The decentralization of the internet has excited the broader cryptocurrency market. The Director of ConsenSys said:


“We believe there are a few key drivers of this growth, the first of which has to do with appealing to a digitally native generation. NFTs bridge many gaps between the traditional and new worlds – physical and digital, mainstream and crypto – because everyone with collectibles can resonate in the niche that matters to them.”


He added that NFT has become more than just a hobby for many people. He added:


“Indeed, the advent of play-to-earn gaming has opened up a way for many people in impoverished countries to earn a living after losing their jobs due to the pandemic. An example of this is Axie Infinity, a blockchain game that allows users to earn income through NFTs and cryptocurrencies.”


Ethereum remains one of the leading NFT blockchains in the world. ConsenSys, a blockchain software technology company focused on developing products on the Ethereum blockchain, praised the Ethereum network. 


“ Ethereum is the first and primary blockchain for running software, and the idea is revolutionary. It heralded DeFi, the creative economy with NFTs and now new organizational structures and gaming collectives .”


However, he added that ConsenSys believes there will be many computer blockchains because they will form the backbone of Web 3.0. He concluded that not everyone will play the same role as there is a difference between technology, adoption and community.
