Meta tests trading system for Metaverse

 


In the group's own metaverse project "Horizon Worlds", content creators and companies will in future have the opportunity to sell digital items in the virtual parallel world. Meta announced this in a press release .

The function is currently being tested with a “handful” of creators. For example, they can create and sell accessories for characters or offer paid access to parts of the Metaverse.

In addition, Meta previously set up a fund that currently contains $10 million. This is intended to lure content creators into the digital parallel world.

So far, trading is only possible in the USA and Canada. Participants must be at least 18 years old.

At the same time, Meta is also working on a new currency for the Facebook and Instagram platforms. Informal name: “Zuck Bucks”. According to media reports, the currency is also to be used in the group's Metaverse project.

After the failed Diem project , this is Meta's second attempt to implement a currency in its own platforms.
