Changpeng Zhao praises France's pro-crypto stance



 Binance intends to expand its presence in France following its investment in November.


Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance, has praised France for its positive cryptocurrency stance.


CZ said so while speaking at the annual Paris Blockchain Week Summit on Wednesday. He praised France for its pro-cryptocurrency regulation and announced that Binance will get a space in Paris startup incubator Station F. He said:


“France is uniquely positioned to be a leader in this industry in Europe. France is very business-friendly, pro-crypto regulations. The government's attitude towards this industry has been phenomenal.”


Binance has received a positive reception in France, and CZ said the exchange will expand its base in the country. CZ added:


“France is uniquely positioned to be a leader in this industry in Europe. Starting in France as a launch pad for Europe, we want to use this space as our creative and innovative base.”


Station F is the world's largest business incubator. It hosts more than a thousand startups and has some elite partners including Microsoft, Google, and Facebook.


Binance getting a spot on Station F means that the company's selected startups will receive free accommodation and access to various resources in the building during the incubation period.


In addition, the selected projects will also have access to support from the Binance team and partners.


Binance could try to set up its headquarters in France. For years, the cryptocurrency exchange had claimed that it had no physical headquarters. However, as Binance has grown, regulators have cracked down on the exchange.


The company is now trying to establish a physical presence in one country and France is currently the leading candidate.


Binance invested $100 million in the growing blockchain space in France last November. It remains the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, processing almost five times the daily transaction volume of other leading exchanges.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack.
