PUBG inventor Krafton build blockchain games

 


Solana becomes a partner of Krafton, the makers behind the hit video game PUBG.

The deal between both companies includes a "long-term cooperative relationship for the development and operation of blockchain and NFT-based games."

Both companies want to explore business opportunities and investments together.

Solana is one of the fastest blockchains in the world , capable of over 65,000 transactions per second. Its ecosystem now includes dozens of decentralized apps (dApps) in all crypto areas - from NFTs to DeFi.

Krafton is one of the most successful game manufacturers from South Korea. Their multiplayer shooter “Playerunknown's Battlegrounds” (PUBG for short) has been downloaded millions of times since its launch in 2017. The game popularized the Battle Royale principle, which is immensely successful today.

So far, the gaming community has been very reluctant to introduce blockchain and NFT games.

The largest PC gaming platform Steam banned NFT and blockchain games on its service last year. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer said he felt NFTs were more about "exploitation than entertainment."

Various advances into the crypto sector by game companies such as Ubisoft or Electronic Arts have been withdrawn in the past after the community reacted very negatively .
