Crypto start-up Alchemy becomes tenfold unicorn

 


Crypto start-up Alchemy raises fresh money. This allows the company to double its value in just a few months.



A new round of funding has taken crypto infrastructure startup Alchemy to an enterprise value of $10.2 billion .

The recently raised capital of 200 million US dollars comes from venture capitalists such as Lightspeed and Silver Lake , among others .

The last round of funding was only a few months ago. As recently as October 2021, the company was worth $3.5 billion.

The flood of money can be explained by the hype surrounding Web 3.0. Investors are currently looking for the right participation vehicle to participate in the “decentralized Internet”.

"Everyone is looking for a way to get involved in this space, and [investors] have realized that Alchemy is the backbone for these things," said Joe Lau, Alchemy's co-founder and chief technology officer.

Alchemy makes software for blockchain solutions such as NBA Topshots, Axie Infinity , and OpenSea .

The crypto start-up is by no means the only company in this area that has already been able to claim tenfold unicorn status. In November of last year, for example, we reported that the Digital Currency Group was able to break through the 10 billion US dollar mark thanks to a funding round .
