ConsenSys takes over wallet manager MyCrypto

 


The US company ConsenSys takes over the wallet manager MyCrypto. With the takeover, MetaMask should continue its success story.


An official press release states that the two Ethereum wallet providers would initially operate separately. A merger of MetaMask and MyCrypto should take place over time.

According to the company, the future focus will be on the development of the MetaMask brand.

MetaMask has not ruled out further takeovers.

"I believe we will be able to offer a wallet experience that helps our users make the best decisions in the rapidly evolving Web3 landscape," said MetaMask co-founder Dan Finlay.

According to Finlay, the two teams had already cooperated on security issues during the ICO boom in 2015.

The company did not provide any further details about the deal.


The market value of ConsenSys was estimated at around three billion US dollars in November 2021.
