Cardano wants to increase the block size

More and more projects are launching on the Cardano network. With increased adoption, calls for more scalability are getting louder. Developer IOHK is now responsive.

Cardano developer IOHK heralds the next development step of the network. It was announced on Twitter that the block size would be increased first.

The block size is to increase from 72 kilobytes to 80 kilobytes – an increase of at least 11 percent.

In addition, Cardano increases the transaction speed within the dApp store “Plutos” from 12.5 to 14.5 million units per transaction.

IOHK will now embark on an observation process in which the "actual performance" of the network will be subjected to a practical test.

As more and more projects are launched on Cardano, the network is slowly reaching its capacity. In the past month, the occupancy rate has increased to almost 90 percent at times.
