Aave founders launch decentralized Twitter

 


A Twitter competitor based on NFTs is launched with the LensProtocol. Polygon is also involved.



"We're excited to present the LensProtocol , a consent-free, composite, and decentralized protocol that facilitates the building of a Web3 social media platform," reads a LensProtocol Twitter thread .

In the thread, the makers set out the basics of their Twitter competitor.

The protocol should therefore be based on Ethereum and support a number of social media platforms.

The project is currently live on Polygon 's Mumbai testnet .

The basis is non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Unlike the competition, the data is not on a central server, but is kept by the users themselves.

Profiles, images, texts and other content are stored accordingly as NFTs on the ETH blockchain.

The source code of the protocol is open source.

Among other things, the project is also supported by Polygon. We recently reported on Polygon because the company was able to secure millions in funding.

The founders of Aave are probably behind the LensProtocol, as The Block reports .
