Plan B for Bitcoin: "I really don't care if it sticks at $ 50,000, $ 100,000 or $ 288,000"

According to Plan B, the pseudonymous creator of the Bitcoin Stock-to-Flow (S2F) model, Bitcoin will reach a price of at least $ 100,000 in this Bitcoin halving cycle. However, the Bitcoin proponent has stated that it is not worried about where the price will end up in the short term.

He made the bold Bitcoin price prediction in a recent interview with Dutch technical analyst and YouTuber Madelon Vos, in which he also spoke about his Bitcoin models and his expectations for Bitcoin.

Why Plan B isn't fixated on Bitcoin's short-term price

The development of the Bitcoin course is an important subject of speculation in the crypto market. Even so, Plan B has revealed that it isn't very concerned about the short-term Bitcoin rate. That's because he has a long-term perspective and is already thinking about what prices Bitcoin can reach in the future.

Right now it's very exciting to see if it hits $ 100,000 in the next two years, actually this month and next month, "says Plan B." I'm actually already working on the next cycle because I really don't care whether it stays at $ 50,000 or $ 100,000 or $ 288,000.

His assessment comes at a time when the Bitcoin price has started to gain some momentum. Recall that Bitcoin briefly broke the $ 50,000 mark, hitting $ 51,500 on Friday for the first time since December 8th. The asset is currently trading at around $ 51,000, a slight increase of around two percent over the past 24 hours.

Plan B is not fixated on the current price due to its expectations of the Bitcoin market. The investor believes that Bitcoin is in Phase 5 of its development, where it is expected that institutional investors like Michael Saylor and even nations - like El Salvador - will add Bitcoin to their treasuries. But the negative aspects of this phase, such as the expectation that Bitcoin could be drawn into the geopolitical playing field, are also at play in his opinion.

While talking about the super cycle, he noted that it is not yet time to talk about hyperbitcoinization as it would only become possible when bitcoin's market capitalization reaches the trillion dollar capacity of gold and then the Exceeds $ 100 trillion real estate market capacity.

Is the Bitcoin StocktoFlow model still valid? PlanB speaks up

Despite the recent market criticism of the S2F model's credibility, Plan B stated that the model it created to keep his emotions out of trading decisions is still very much up to date. When asked if he had 100% confidence in the S2F model, he answered with a resounding yes.

As long as Bitcoin price follows a linear path, where it increases as supply decreases and demand increases, the S2F model will continue to apply. However, he acknowledged that the floor model, the model he used to predict that Bitcoin would hit $ 100,000 by the end of the year, was no longer valid. “If it fails, it fails. If it works, it works, ”he said of his models.

From offchain to offchain: Statechains meets Lightning

Without a doubt, the most significant off-chain Bitcoin solution is the Lightning network. But in its wake, the statechain has emerged as an intriguing replacement. There is currently a proposal to link the two offchain networks. From an ocean, for example, you can see sunbeams glistening in the water, waves rippling, and possibly a jellyfish drifting toward the light. But you only see a small portion of it. The distance from the sea's surface to its bottom is hundreds of meters. It has dozens of different fish species swimming in it, crabs and starfish crawling on the bottom, shells clinging to rocks, and sea plants climbing up. A completely new world starts where your gaze diverges. You can picture a blockchain like Bitcoin, just like the sea. What you see on the outside is only a small portion of what is actually there; the set of UTXOs (coins) and transaction history that full nodes store are just the beginning of a much larger world. It's the plan, at least. With Bitcoin...

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Although the websites affected by the scam attempt have reacted in the last few hours and deactivated the advertising pop-up, it is still recommended not to connect your MetaMask wallet to ne...

Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack. These numbers are only the lowest estimate, however, as they are based on the lowest price.  At the time of writing, it was still unclear how the hackers gained access to BAYC's official Instagram account. Social media users have pointed out the importance of two-fact...
