Justin Sun, the CEO of Tron (TRX), is stepping down from his position on Friday, December 17th.

Justin Sun has announced that he is stepping down from his role as CEO of the Tron Foundation and joining the Grenada government as the new full-time ambassador to the World Trade Organization. Sun said in a statement:

“It is a great honor to serve as WTO Ambassador for Grenada. I look forward to the opportunity to represent Grenada and work with the WTO leadership to reinvigorate world trade in a number of ways, particularly developing a resilient digital economy at the international level. "

Sun indicated that Grenada has several blockchain-related business benefits and could become a "hotbed" for future blockchain developers. He also stressed that legitimizing the blockchain industry in countries like Grenada, if successful, could lead the US and China to rush with their blockchain efforts too.

The island nation recognizes English as one of its official languages ​​and is geographically close to the United States. He also has a strong education system with one of the best universities in the region, which Sun says will be an important part for future blockchain developers.

Following its decision to step down, Sun said the TRX owners will take over the running of the network as it has now achieved true decentralization. No successor for Sun has yet been announced, although it is unclear whether this will be the new status of the network.

Sun loves promoting cryptocurrency with influential people, and he pays generously for the opportunity when needed. In February 2020, he paid $ 4.5 million for the honor of dining with billionaire investor Warren Buffett. At dinner he gave Buffett Bitcoin, who had previously called the cryptocurrency “rat poison squared”.
