How to Trade NFTs on OpenSea

OpenSea is one of the most popular exchanges for trading non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The rising popularity of NFTs, which has already spanned the mainstream beyond the crypto bubble, has a lot to do with platforms like OpenSea. You can buy, sell and trade NFTs on the decentralized marketplace. We give a short OpenSea guide for beginners on how they can use the platform for themselves.

What is OpenSea?

OpenSea is a decentralized marketplace for non-fungible tokens. The platform was the very first NFT marketplace and was founded in 2017. You can buy or sell unique digital art on OpenSea. This includes:

Collectibles

Games

digital images of real objects

Domain names

etc.

The main difference between OpenSea and other platforms is its diversity. In the following we give a short OpenSea guide for beginners.

OpenSea instructions: Open an account

To open an account with OpenSea , you have to connect an Ethereum wallet to the platform. The most popular is MetaMask:

If you select MetaMask, a separate MetaMask window opens, in which you confirm that you want to connect MetaMask to OpenSea. If you are not yet using a MetaMask, you can install it as a browser extension in just a few steps and then connect it. As soon as you are done, you will be taken to your profile dashboard.

Now we continue with our OpenSea instructions.

OpenSea instructions: Main menu

Under the main menu you will find menu items at the top in the header. Select the different tabs to explore OpenSea.

Explore

Under Explore you will find numerous collections of NFTs. You can select different categories from music to sports in a separate bar.

Stats

Under Stats you can browse the most popular collections and platforms that NFTs offer. You can use the filter functions time, category and blockchains to filter according to your interests.

Resources

Under Resources you can find the help center, the platform status and the OpenSea partner programs. Furthermore, the function of transactions without gas fees (gas-free transactions) is very interesting.

Create

Under Create you can create your own NFTs at OpenSea:

OpenSea Guide: How to Buy NFTs

As the last step in our OpenSea instructions, we will briefly show you how you can now purchase a digital work of art. To do this, click under on a collection and in the collection on an item!

You now have the option to purchase the NFT directly or to submit an offer. If you want to buy directly, you can go straight to the checkout. You buy via your MetaMask or your linked wallet.

If you want to submit an offer, then enter the amount and the period of your offer.

That was our short OpenSea guide for beginners. The platform offers numerous other functions and options. Use these instructions for your first steps and then explore everything else!

What are NFT? NFT are unique tokens that cannot be exchanged one-for-one for an equivalent token.  Any asset that is tokenizable can be an NFT.  This includes, for example, (digital) works of art, trading cards, game items and crypto domains.  Theoretically, however, real estate or securities can also be mapped as NFT. NFTs can be used to transparently map ownership structures on a public blockchain.  This allows them to store value just like real objects, even if additional copies are easy to make.  For example, the original picture of the Mona Lisa is significantly more valuable than a photo, as everyone kno...

CARDALONIA: THE CARDANO METAVERSE OPENS THE GATES!

Have you ever been to Cardalonia? With these words, the Cardano Metaverse called Cardalonia starts the gates. In this 3D world, developers and users can interact with each other. First of all, users have to create an individual character with which they can move online. After that you can enter one of the worlds built by developers with this character. You can also purchase your own land in the Cardano Metaverse via the marketplaces in Cardalonia . This is secured by Cardano's blockchain technology and therefore offers a relatively secure transfer of ownership. Since these are only digital plots of land, it is not yet entirely clear when the plots of land are purchased whether they can also be sold again in the future. A possible profit cannot be estimated at the moment. In Cardalonia, the cryptocurrency Lonia is used. The maximum amount of tokens in circulation is 100,000,000. The team consists of Alice Sand (Co-Founder), Vasil Air (CTO) and Dustan Water (Fullstack Developer). T...
