Financial consultancy LionTree wants to introduce cryptocurrencies as a means of payment

 


LionTree has been involved in several major Wall Street business acquisitions this year and is now increasingly enjoying crypto.


An influential financial consultancy that has already worked with major Wall Street firms such as Amazon and MGM Studios is considering the introduction of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.


As from a corresponding newsletter of LionTree stating that financial advice crypto currencies wants to try out as a payment option. In this regard, the chairman and managing director Aryeh Bourkoff first explains in his circular that crypto has now become an important tool for private and institutional investors. Above all, the CEO takes a particularly close look at current innovations such as decentralized financial services (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFT).


“In 2021, crypto is 3 trillion market cap. The US dollar has grown so large that it can no longer be ignored, ”as Bourkoff concludes. He sees the driving force behind this as the fact that, due to rising inflation, many investors have been looking for investment opportunities with higher interest rates and higher returns.


Bourkoff does not want to miss this trend, which is why he explicitly suggests that his company is considering the introduction of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment:


“We are currently investigating ways in which we can introduce cryptocurrencies as a payment option for our services. In the not too distant future, we could even launch our own LionTree cryptocurrency. "

But in addition to all the adulation for the crypto market in 2021, the CEO also points out some weaknesses and problems that the industry has to solve. He thinks, for example, that the associated technology needs far more energy efficiency and that the interfaces have to become much more user-friendly.


The LionTree is relatively small in terms of size, but the company's influence is nonetheless far-reaching. This year she was involved in some of the most important mergers and acquisitions, including the merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery Inc. Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link.
