Elon Musk: Neuralink is better than Metaverse in the long term

The Neuralink founder cannot imagine a future with VR headsets. Among other things, this is bad for the eyes in the long term.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has made negative comments about the Metaverse and the Web 3.0 ecosystem. He considers these terms to be buzzwords and marketing methods.

"I can't imagine anyone strapping a damn screen in front of their face all day," Musk said in an interview with The Babylon Bee when asked for his opinion on the Metaverse. "I don't know if I necessarily believe in this Metaverse stuff, although people talk to me about it a lot.

Regarding the metaverse and virtual reality (VR), Musk said he couldn't envision a future in which one would have to leave the physical world to live in a virtual one. He added that he knew from personal experience that VR headsets can trigger motion sickness while playing video games:

"In the long term, a sophisticated Neuralink could bring you completely into virtual reality. I think we're far from disappearing into the metaverse. That just sounds like a kind of buzzword."

Musk founded the neurotechnology company Neuralink, whose primary aim is to insert brain implants into people to restore and improve physical abilities through computers.

"I can't imagine an attractive Metaverse situation right now, and Web 3 sounds more like marketing than reality. I don't get it. Maybe I'll understand, but I don't get it right now."

Musk also emphasized that people are reluctant to walk around with VR headsets and want to take them off again at some point. He also recalled being warned as a kid not to sit too close to the TV:

"That makes your eyes bad, doesn't it? And now we have the TV literally right on our face. And I like: What? Is that good for you?"

In addition to his Dogecoin ( DOGE ) support, Musk has also recently campaigned for cryptocurrencies . He described them as indestructible and said that they were basically designed to limit the power of a centralized government. As Cointelegraph reported, Musk stated at the Code Conference in California:

"You can't destroy crypto, but governments can slow it down."

He also suggested that the US government should "do nothing" when it comes to regulating crypto.

Not a bear market: According to the analyst, the current BTC decline is the same as in previous Bitcoin cycles

According to one analyst, Bitcoin is behaving the same overall this year as it has in previous cycles. Bitcoin ( BTC ) will have “at least one more boost higher” before hitting all-time highs this halving cycle, analysts are currently saying. The well-known analyst TechDev has spoken on Twitter about the current state of BTC and said that contrary to many opinions, nothing unusual has happened in BTC/USD in 2022. Bitcoin in 2021: Nothing to see here Sentiment has also taken a hit, falling 40 percent from November's all-time high of $69,000. There is still “extreme fear” in the bitcoin and altcoin market. TechDev, known for his bullish views on Bitcoin, sees no reason to worry. He analyzed the new wallet addresses in relation to course behavior and shows here that the scenario from last year was by no means an isolated case. Back then, the number of new addresses made lower highs while the price made higher highs. "In 4 of the 6 corrections, there was divergence with price ma...

The 5 largest platforms for non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles

Since the beginning of 2021, non-fungible tokens (NFT) have had no holding back and the sector is setting new records almost every day.  More and more artists, stars and brands are realizing the potential - NFT are well on their way to catapulting the crypto space into the mainstream.  But which collectibles are currently the most popular? What are NFT? NFT are unique tokens that cannot be exchanged one-for-one for an equivalent token.  Any asset that is tokenizable can be an NFT.  This includes, for example, (digital) works of art, trading cards, game items and crypto domains.  Theoretically, however, real estate or securities can also be mapped as NFT. NFTs can be used to transparently map ownership structures on a public blockchain.  This allows them to store value just like real objects, even if additional copies are easy to make.  For example, the original picture of the Mona Lisa is significantly more valuable than a photo, as everyone kno...
