Adidas Originals: Second place in the best-selling NFT collections on OpenSea

 


Adidas Originals, gmoney, Bored Ape Yacht Club and PUNKS Comic have raised 43 million US dollars within 72 hours as part of a joint NFT project.


On the first weekend of the first NFT from the "Into the Metaverse" collection of Adidas Originals 11,391 ether (has ETH ) worth over 43 million US dollars to OpeanSea introduced . In terms of trade volume, this collection has secured second place on OpeanSea after RTFKT's Clone X and Takashi Murakami collections. 


In partnership with Bored Ape Yacht Club, PUNKS Comic and gmoney, Adidas Originals created a digital asset and put 30,000 copies of the same item on sale on December 17th. To date, nearly 20,000 copies of the Phase 1 NFT have been sold.


According to the company, the early phase, which had to be interrupted due to technical problems with the Mutant Ape Yacht Club and restarted after a few hours, raised 15.5 million US dollars. 


This NFT is not a collector's item, but an access token. This offers its owners exclusive access to virtual accessories in the game metaverse The Sandbox. In addition, these tokens can be exchanged for the respective physical products from 2022.


NFT owners could also get a physical version of PUNKS Comics Issue 2. The title of this issue is "X Marks the Drop" and is a graphic story about all the characters in the collection. The comic can also be purchased independently from PUNKS Comic via OpenSea. The PUNKS Comic development team is called Pixel Vault and is said to have invested part of the proceeds from the sale on OpenSea in the PUNKS community.



Adidas announced a partnership with Coinbase on Twitter and unveiled its own sandbox lot. The sporting goods manufacturer also offers virtual sneakers in the Metaversum. Nike has also ventured into the Metaverse as part of a partnership with the manufacturer of virtual sneakers and collectibles RTFKT . At the time of going to press, a collection by this same company was number one among the best-selling NFTs on OpenSea.

Phishing attack on popular crypto sites tries to empty wallets

  Several major crypto sites such as Etherscan, CoinGecko, DeFi Pulse, and others report malicious pop-ups scammers use to try to trick users into connecting their MetaMask wallets. The phishing attack came from a domain displaying the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) logo. "We are investigating the root cause of this attack to fix the threat as soon as possible," CoinGecko founder Bobby Ong tweeted. The phishing attack appears to have been triggered by a malicious ad script from Coinzilla, a crypto ad network, according to CoinGecko. Etherscan also advises its users not to confirm any transactions that may appear on the website. The attackers attempted to use the hype around the “bored monkeys” non-fungible tokens (NFT) to gain access to the cryptocurrencies of unsuspecting website visitors. Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs stolen through phishing on Instagram

  Bored Ape Yacht Club ( BAYC ) developers announced on Monday that hackers have hijacked the official Instagram page of the popular NFT collection and posted links to a fake airdrop. Crypto enthusiasts who connected their MetaMask wallet to the rogue website subsequently had their Ape NFTs stolen. Apparently, the attack was planned to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the BAYC collection. This increased the "perceived credibility" of the phishing link. About 100 NFTs are said to have been stolen in the phishing attack . According to CoinGecko data , the minimum price for a BAYC NFT is 139 Ether ( ETH ) or $400,726. So if reports are correct, over $40 million worth of NFTs were stolen in the attack.
