Adidas Originals brings out first NFT collection

The German sporting goods manufacturer recently entered into partnerships with three well-known projects in the NFT space: Bored Ape Yacht Club, GMoney and PUNKS Comics. With this, the company wants to get into the metaverse.

Adidas Originals has announced an NFT collection called "Into the Metaverse".

There is currently little information about the offer. But it became known that the digital asset would serve as an access token. With this, owners have exclusive access to future physical and digital products, services and rewards on the newly acquired property in The Sandbox.

Sales of the collection will begin on December 17th on the company's official website at a price of 0.2 ETH. Right now that's about $ 810.

Cointelegraph spoke to NFT influencer GMoney about their expectations for Adidas to enter the NFT market:

"They've been very careful about their entry into this area. I think they'll help empower communities and content creators by developing things together."

On December 2nd , Adidas Originals announced their intention to enter the metaverse. To this end, the company has partnered with Bored Ape Yacht Club, GMoney and PUNKS Comic. The sporting goods manufacturer explained that in the digital worlds in the Metaverse "everyone will be able to express their most original ideas and really be themselves".

Adidas also bought Ape # 8774 , a blue-haired monkey with a bucket hat and gold hoop, for 46 ETH on September 17th. At the time it was about 150,000 US dollars.

When this purchase was announced, the monkey was shown in an Adidas tracksuit with the logos of the three partners and an Adidas logo on the side.

GMoney spoke about its role in helping market entry: [nbsp

"I've been speaking to them since April, helping them with their strategy and giving them feedback on their ideas to make sure they come into the room in a really authentic way. And I think we're now seeing that work out. Adidas has that Most authentic entry into this area made so far. "

In recent months, the established companies and prominent personalities have declared that they want to help develop or join the NFT room and the Metaverse.

On December 14th, sporting goods manufacturer and competitor Nike unveiled its entry into the Metaversum . For this purpose, the company has taken over the virtual sneaker brand RTKFT. Right before the takeover, RTFKT released CloneX Avatars. This is an NFT project that Cointelegraph spoke about at length with co-founder Chris Le in early October this year.

The 5 largest platforms for non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles

Since the beginning of 2021, non-fungible tokens (NFT) have had no holding back and the sector is setting new records almost every day.  More and more artists, stars and brands are realizing the potential - NFT are well on their way to catapulting the crypto space into the mainstream.  But which collectibles are currently the most popular? What are NFT? NFT are unique tokens that cannot be exchanged one-for-one for an equivalent token.  Any asset that is tokenizable can be an NFT.  This includes, for example, (digital) works of art, trading cards, game items and crypto domains.  Theoretically, however, real estate or securities can also be mapped as NFT. NFTs can be used to transparently map ownership structures on a public blockchain.  This allows them to store value just like real objects, even if additional copies are easy to make.  For example, the original picture of the Mona Lisa is significantly more valuable than a photo, as everyone kno...

CARDALONIA: THE CARDANO METAVERSE OPENS THE GATES!

Have you ever been to Cardalonia? With these words, the Cardano Metaverse called Cardalonia starts the gates. In this 3D world, developers and users can interact with each other. First of all, users have to create an individual character with which they can move online. After that you can enter one of the worlds built by developers with this character. You can also purchase your own land in the Cardano Metaverse via the marketplaces in Cardalonia . This is secured by Cardano's blockchain technology and therefore offers a relatively secure transfer of ownership. Since these are only digital plots of land, it is not yet entirely clear when the plots of land are purchased whether they can also be sold again in the future. A possible profit cannot be estimated at the moment. In Cardalonia, the cryptocurrency Lonia is used. The maximum amount of tokens in circulation is 100,000,000. The team consists of Alice Sand (Co-Founder), Vasil Air (CTO) and Dustan Water (Fullstack Developer). T...
